The University of West Florida Center for Cybersecurity and AI is teaming up with Regions Foundation to provide free Summer Cyber and AI Experience Camps in 2026. These camps are designed for students from seventh to twelfth grade, aged 13 and above, to explore the field of cybersecurity through practical, hands-on experiences. The initiative aims to introduce young learners to potential career paths in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
The camps offer a week-long immersive experience where students engage in interactive activities, games, and puzzles, all while receiving hands-on computer training. The Florida Cyber Range® powers these sessions, allowing students to tackle real-world cyber problems and use actual cyber tools. Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from cybersecurity professionals, gaining insights into various career opportunities within the field.
Two distinct sessions are available: the Foundations Camp, held from June 1-5, is tailored for newcomers to cybersecurity, while the Guild Camp, from June 8-12, is for returning campers or those with prior coursework in related fields. These camps are made possible by the support of the Regions Foundation, which focuses on community development and education.
The Regions Foundation, primarily funded by Regions Bank, supports initiatives that enhance education and workforce readiness. According to John M. Gormley, Pensacola market executive for Regions Bank, this grant helps bridge the gap between education and career opportunities, preparing students for the workforce of tomorrow.
The camps will take place at the UWF Center for Cybersecurity and AI in downtown Pensacola, running Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Interested students can view the full schedule and register by visiting the University of West Florida's website.
